When I began printing color photographs in 1996, what I’d loved about painting started to manifest in the textures of photographs (but it wasn’t yet tactile enough). In order to remedy the lack of tactility, I started making books; the dresses book was the second. The box is 11″ diameter x 4″ high; the book is 6.5″x5.5″x4″. If completely unfolded, the book spans 16-17′. Materials: 11 color photographs, sewing patterns, vellum, handmade paper, hat pins, cloth, thread, wood, ribbon, and a found antique hat box
books – handmade: untitled (book of hours)
